How can communications be used to tackle adolescent obesity?

In less than 30 years, childhood obesity has increased from 6% to almost 20% and will continue to climb in the foreseeable future.  Obesity in this age group has reached almost epidemic proportions and will have a deep economic impact in our country.  According to the CDC, 70% of all obese children have at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease while 40% have more than one.  That’s a staggering amount and will require us to spend more healthcare dollars on treating preventable disease if we are unable to reverse these trends.
